Pelvic Floor Therapy
Restoring Function. Rebuilding Confidence.

Pelvic floor dysfunction can affect many aspects of daily life—from bladder and bowel function to movement, exercise, intimacy, and overall confidence in your body.
At Functional Therapy & Wellness, pelvic floor therapy is provided by licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs) with specialized training in pelvic health and whole-body rehabilitation.
Rather than treating the pelvic floor in isolation, we look at how it functions as part of the entire body. The pelvic floor works together with your core, diaphragm, hips, spine, abdominal wall, fascial system, and nervous system. Our goal is to identify what is contributing to your symptoms, restore healthy function, and help you get back to living fully.

More about Pelvic Floor Therapy:
Pelvic floor dysfunction isn't always caused by a “weak” pelvic floor. For some individuals, the pelvic floor needs improved strength, coordination, and endurance. For others, the muscles are already excessively tense or overactive and need to learn how to relax and move normally before strengthening is appropriate. Many people experience a combination of both. That's why individualized evaluation matters. Depending on your needs and comfort level, treatment may incorporate pelvic floor muscle assessment and retraining, internal or external manual therapy, myofascial release, scar and soft-tissue mobilization, breathing mechanics, core rehabilitation, movement retraining, and individualized therapeutic exercise. At FTW, we don't believe pelvic floor rehabilitation should simply mean being handed a list of Kegels. We work to understand why your pelvic floor is struggling in the first place and develop a treatment plan specific to your body, symptoms, and goals.
A Whole-Body Approach to Pelvic Health
The pelvic floor doesn't work alone.
Restrictions or dysfunction involving the abdomen, hips, diaphragm, spine, scars, fascial system, breathing mechanics, or nervous system can all influence how the pelvic floor moves and functions.
By treating these relationships rather than focusing only on the location of your symptoms, our licensed PTs and OTs work to restore comfortable movement, confidence, strength, and function.
Pelvic health concerns are common, but that doesn't mean you have to live with them.
